They said it at the time: we are paying for a user license, not for the video game itself. We are going to reach a point of madness where there will be a subscription fee for “wearing clothes.” 🗿

I agree with everything said here. Forcing me to stay online in order to play singleplayer is an absurd, makes zero sense. Gaming industry became something like the testing ground for anti-consumer practices of entertainment.

Maybe, but it would backfire on the companies eventually. For me, it is simple, not gonna buy or play those games. Ubisoft also earned a spot on my blacklist awhile ago. I would not buy any of their games no matter how much I wanted to play

The peasants are raving about "always online" games. Meanwhile AI tech oligarchs are hoovering up all the RAM & storage, because owning your own hardware will be a "legacy feature", acc. to Jeff Bezos. Own nothing, zero privacy, be happy.

I still feel burned by the crew. The multiplayer should of been optional.

Easy, don't buy their games. You use Ubisoft in your example, and aren't they practically going bankrupt. Make crap gamer experience and your company dies; the market is working.
