S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope Is Almost Here. Choose Your Side in Freedom vs Duty

Alienware_Team | 08/17/2026

The Zone is about to get even more dangerous.

Ahead of the upcoming release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, GSC Game World has launched a new community event that puts players in the middle of one of the franchise's most iconic rivalries: Freedom vs Duty.

For years, both factions have represented very different visions for the future of the Zone. Duty believes the dangers of the Zone must be contained and controlled, while Freedom fights for open access and personal choice. Now it's up to the community to decide which side deserves to prevail.

Take the Test and Join the Fight

Players can visit the official event website, complete a faction questionnaire, and discover which side best matches their beliefs.

Once you've chosen your faction, your participation contributes to a live global struggle between Freedom and Duty. Every new recruit helps shift the balance, and as the community progresses, additional reward tiers will be unlocked for participants.

Preparing for Cost of Hope

The community campaign is part of the build-up to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, the upcoming expansion that continues the journey through the Zone with new stories, characters, locations, and challenges waiting to be discovered.

If you're already exploring the wastelands of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, now is the perfect time to pick a side and make your voice count before the next chapter arrives.

Coming Soon on Alienware Arena

We're also working with the team at GSC Game World on additional community activities and giveaways for Alienware Arena members.

Stay tuned for more details and potential chances to grab S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game keys in the near future.

Until then, there's only one question left:

Duty or Freedom?
