Hit ‘em with your Groove, Commander!

The first Wargroove was released in 2019 and filled in the gap for fans of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars (the latter of which is getting a Switch reboot release in April), fitting nicely into the niche gaming community. While Wargroove 2 doesn’t have a launch date yet, the news is enough to inject new energy into fans and generate some online buzz, particularly because Wargroove 2 promises a much more ambitious game than the first.

The sequel will introduce new modes and systems such as Conquest, a single-player roguelike mode, as well as new items such as new Commanders, maps, and unit types. There will also be a new in-game editor for users to create custom maps, cutscenes, and campaigns, which will be a game changer for how you can experience the game. Like the first Wargroove, Wargroove 2 will have up to 4 player co-ops and battles (local and online supported).

You can wishlist Wargroove 2 on Steam.

I really wanted to like Wargroove but it just didn't scratch that Fire Emblem itch, nor did it hook me the way Advance Wars did.  For me, it fell into that gap rather than bridge it.
