Did you score a key for Kingdom Wars 4?

  • 1

I sure did not get a key, and I check the giveaway page multiple times a day...  I guess this is what I get for not spamming the giveaway page, and actually playing games.

After finding out the keys were gone, I did a simple search for Kingdom Wars 4 Steam Key Giveway. There were a ton of web pages with "Make a free Alienware Arena account, get the game for free". I wonder just how many new accounts were created to get those keys? Will any of those new account owners will even consider purchasing an Alienware unit? Probably not. And they certainly won't be buying Alienwares for each account that they created...

I would not care so much if the keys were unlimited, and if the load screen for the giveaway page did not taunt me with a notification saying that the keys are all gone. Until the next giveaway, I am doomed to see that a game that I would have really enjoyed playing is not available to me through the Alienware Arena giveaways.

It is abysmally dissapointing that the only giveaways that I seem to be able to score are cosmetics, dlc, and boosters for "free" to play games in the couple of months since I registered my Alienware and created my Alienware Arena account. Yup, I could score those kind of keys because they cannot be flipped for some quick easy cash.

Would it be possible to give registered Alienware owners a window of opportunity, say 24 hours, to have a chance of being rewarded with scoring one of the limited keys before the giveaway is posted to the general public?

And if that is not possible, change the way the giveaway page loads, so the first thing that I see is something other than the opportunity that I missed?

You should know the drill by now: as soon as the giveaway went live the whole internet got alerted. As it was an unusual time for a giveaway the 3,000 keys available lasted for an astonishingly long time ~ 20 minutes.

As frustrating it may be for you to miss out I imagine it is even more so for AWA staff as they can't please everybody. In case you'd got a key the oldtimers would complain why the giveaway was open for tier 1 and so on.

I did realize to late that I had the game in my library already and made a giveaway on SteamGifts for the Alienware Arena Steam group which ends today 11:59 pm UTC+2  https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/YyiFO/kingdom-wars-4 sorry that's all I can offer.

Special loyalty rewards for verified owners of Alienware devices seems a good idea to me although I think it's improbable such a limited key pool will last 24 hours let alone keys being left over for the rest of the community. Why don't you open a thread in the suggestion sub forum?

So when do the giveaways go live at the start of the new day like the vault or some other time?

Is the game any good?

They made it level 1 so new fake accounts all got the keys levels are pointless on here

I can not get any steam key ever. Giveaways release 3 a.m. local time. After 5-6 hours all keys are always gone. And the phone app does not ever give a notification too. Same goes for game vault in market place. frown

Sickling, Why do you think that the whole world should revolve around your desires? Now, from your words, you are actually accusing everyone who managed to take the game a little earlier from a free distribution for all users of the site with a level of 1 and above.
You yourself say that you preferred to exchange your free time for the opportunity to play, thereby missing the moment when you could take the game from the site page.
Ask that next time, you personally receive a notification by email about the start of new promotions. And it is better that the courier would deliver directly to the doorstep of the house, so that you would not miss anything else. enlightened

Agreed, and I don't understand why Alienware does nothing - they are only giving away free stuff to people who do not care about Alienware

Tip04ek, Thank you for the first dissenting comment on this thread! I appriciate the time and energy that you spent on it.

I am amazed that the first expected negative remark took as long as the sixth comment to appear...

So, it is not a comment about real gamers and registered Alienware owners getting first dibs, but about the rules being buggered leading to a free for all from any Tom, Dick, and Harry out there in the internet space, who created a or any number of accounts to get keys for reselling. Seriously, I was actually up around 3:30 to 4 AM  that morning and the keys were already gone!

Egads, being! Are you saying my Alienware is to be exclusively used as an overpowered, overclocked key hunting tool? If all I wanted to do is go key hunting, I could have got a cheap low end chromebook flash game app machine from Wallyworld, or I could just be making up a multitude of accounts from a $5usd obsolete phone/tablet obtained from facecrack marketplace.

Oh, and if you are wondering, I did not down vote you. The forum, at least to me, is a place for everyone to voice their opinions or discuss games and tech without worry.

Doo they have text/email notifications as an option?  I don't get any notifications right now but if that options available I need to get it turned on.
