I bought a used x51 r3 it is the same one from this link.https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283283233092I got this for my son he wanted to try computer gaming. And now that I bought it and researching more about the model the more I think I should of just saved more money to at least buy the i5core.I have been trying look to see how old the desktop is but it’s cant find it.My questions are,is this just garbage? Is it worth getting GTX 1060 or other upgrades? If it is worth upgrade what would you suggest?Does anyone know how old this is?Will this play Fortnite ok (lol)?I hope I didn’t make a mistake buying this any info you good people can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time!

The i3 is decent for fortnite considering it runs on literal potatoes.

The only thing that turns me off from this listing is the action of not listing any specs besides a screenshot of the windows spec screen. Can't tell what gpu that is but the fact it even has one and it's an r3 means it should be decent enough..

Luckily you can upgrade whatever is in it but it would definitely be more expensive than just buying a higher specced outright.

I took the cover off to see what was inside can you explain is this good or bad?I hate to ask stupid questions but this is new to me (specced)? Is there any upgrade that you would suggest that would help the speed and graphics?Any other info would be valuable to me.Thanks for the reply!

It is good you recognized that the gpu needed to be upgraded. I'm not sure of the current model in that X51 but I severely doubt it was what originally came in ANY specced r3.

A reference card is most recommended as the type of GPU to use but I don't think the blower version you have purchased will be an issue. Just monitor the temps with a program such as MSI Afterburner.

Make sure you have the correct power cable to plug into the GPU. It is a 6-pin

Thanks for your help sp00nd,are you the only one that is on this forum?lol.I don’t know if you know the answer to this but it came with a 180 watt cord it seems what I have been reading might need alittle bigger.I bought a 330 watt cord.Is there any concerns I might want to look after with using a higher wattage besides the heat?Any info would be great.

FYI I got the new graphic card and works great.I needed the 330 watt cord it wouldn’t work with the 180 wattage adapter.I also had to uninstall old driver and installed from nvidia.com a new driver.Graphics are good.
