To your Sims you no longer can say that they are crazy

Anyone who has ever at least once played Sims did or at least wanted to make the craziest tiny virtual human. A Sim that would be insane and wacky. Since the series has introduced a system of traits, or personality traits of characters, this could be done with a feature called "Insane" with which Sims became unpredictable and subject to vandalism. But, this feature you will no longer find in The Sims 4.

Someone in Electronic Arts has decided that the name of that character line is not suitable nor correct. As part of the latest update for Sims no longer is called crazy or insane, but "unstable". Instead of the current "Insane" trait now there is "Erratic". Sim's behavior with this characteristic remains the same as before but now it is clarified that this behavior is not diagnosed as a mental disorder.

That's retarded...

By the way, the term is euphemism treadmill. It basically means each time you have a name for a condition, you have to change it because people start getting sensitive about it.

Of course now it seems things are getting worse, because we're not just trying to change the names, we're trying to purge the very mention or inclusion of conditions which have negative traits. These things still exist, they still make people act a certain way, but we're supposed to make up new names for it and pretend the implications of the behavior has somehow changed.

Reminds me of George Carlin's comedy bit about people using more and more soft language in society. Sad how he is so right...

What's everyone getting up in arms about? It sounds like a more accurate descriptor and a less generic word. I swear, people piss their pants over the smallest things just to feel like their opinion is important. Change is good.
