All games on PC should have a quick loading option

The current generation of consoles allowed us to put the games in the so-called stand by mode then by return we quickly and directly return into them - without entering the main menu and pre-loading the last saved position. But, PC games for some reason have never received such treatment. On Steam, for example, there is no option to suspend the last game session and leave it in the memory so you can continue playing without spending a minute or two of your time to load it.

Fortunately, on something similar works a modder named Durante, the same one who saved Dark Souls on PC just hours after the disgraceful port went out. Durante has to two games on Steam added option quick start and load of the last saved position. Of course, this was successful because games alone enabled him to do this, but it would really be helpful if more games were going to provide players with the option of instant continuation from the last saved position.

Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name

It's a very good idea if you ask me, is like to "hibernate" them.

That's pretty cool, Durante is still out here putting AAA studios to shame.

This is only useful for people who don't play for 5 minutes, then give up forever because of life's crushing responsibilities.

In the mean time, using an SSD helps shortening load times. Very recommended.

Here I am, ready to play. Gaming enthusiast without free time to actually play video games but eager to learn anything

Nowadays a lot of waiting time comes from gameplay matchup delays, but certainly some developers should care a bit more of initial loading times although there are more important things to solve in some games.

I think that everything below one minute should be fine.

If your time is so precious that you can't wait a minute for a game to load, then you don't have time to play games to begin with.

This isnt a fair comment.  The feature on consoles is pretty awesome.  Its not about time in the long run, its just about ease of transition.  Its cool that you can watch a show, and then a commercial comes on, you just pop over real quick to check some stats/gear, then pop back to continue watching a show.

THAT BEING SAID..... computers can already do this.  Thats why im confused here on the thesis by KIYA.  It's called ALT-TAB.  Most medium to high-end systems wont even lag as you use other programs, ect.  Consoles can only do this quick swap with one game at a time.  If you load another game, you lose the current games quick-swap.  You can techincally do it with more games at the same time on a PC, though I dont recommend unless you have a lot of power under the hood (and as a note, some platforms wont let you run multiple games at the same time).
