Equifax Data Breach - largest data breach in US history over 140 Million people

If you haven't already, I would suggest as a precaution that everyone with credit cards put a freeze on your credit.  Be proactive with this. Also be careful and go to another credit bureau like TransUnion or  Experion. There have been reports that Equifax is asking folks to wavier their liability from any class action suits regarding the breach, if you ask if you were impacted by the breach. You don't need to know that to put a free on your credit, you only need to suspect you have been compromised.

I really don't know why Equifax didn't have all the data encrypted... very negligent on their part!

That site is rubbish.  You can get different answers from it just by submitting your info multiple times.  As Legrun said, a freeze is the way to go.
