Activision says CoD: WW2 has already washed the bitter taste of Infinite Warfare
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was the best-selling game in the US in 2016, but it was clear to everyone that people were not really delighted with the idea of space warfare. The same game sales were weaker compared to the past releases, and the first trailer provided the most insightful video title with the most negative ratings in YouTube's history.
Activision's investor in the presentation of the financial report was therefore interested in whether there was a risk that a similar situation would be repeated with Call of Duty: WWII, to which Activision Blizzard leader confidently said there was no chance.
"Negative feeling from social networks, which was a problem last year, practically evaporated," says Bobby Kotick. As a reason for this, the fact that the introduction of the new CoD game crashed the record of the viewings throughout the series's history. Additionally, the WWII has reached 10 million views faster than any other CoD game so far, and has collected more positive responses from all previous extensions.
Of course, we could now discuss whether this is a fair comparison since the CoD series at its beginnings had different presentations, and even YouTube did not have a video rating system by 2010.
