5 Favorites from Steam TPS Fest!

GREETINGS GAMERS!!

I hopped onto Steam this morning to see what was popping, and sure enough, Steam TPS (third-person shooter) fest started yesterday! I was scrolling through and wow, I didn’t realize how many fantastic third-person shooters there were available to our gamer fingertips! The games featured are crazy good, so I thought it would be fun to list out my 5 favorites from the fest and, of course, hear what your favorites are!

It wasn’t until after I created my list that I realized that 4 of them were sequels, and specifically the 2nd installment in a series, how funny! I am not mad about it; they were all so good and fun to play. But without further ado, let’s jump into another one here and check out 5 of my favorite games from Steam’s TPS Fest!

Remnant II

Remnant II is what happens when you tell a Soulslike shooter to go multiverse hopping with guns. Developed by Gunfire Games, this Unreal Engine 5 sequel throws solo or co-op action into procedurally generated realms where bullet-dodging and patterns matter more than luck. Your build options include archetypes, traits, and New Game+ progression all wrapped into boss-heavy combat. Lore-hunters will love delving into remnants of Yaesha and Root corruption. The combat is smooth, cinematic, and stinging enough to keep you on your toes. Some critics mention the story could use more narrative depth, but honestly? Getting melted by a world-boss is kind of the point. A polished, replayable loot-shoot-fest that punches well above its weight. Definitely recommend it if you have not played this one!

Risk of Rain 2

If you are more of a rougelike fan where each run is unique and you have some different characters to choose from then Risk of Rain 2 might be right up your alley like it was mine! This action‑roguelike slaps the original’s randomized progression into a vibrant 3D environment, merging waves‑upon‑waves of relentless enemies with evolving challenge as time ticks by. You frag monsters, grab increasingly frantic items, and unlock survivors all while the Logbook hints at lore around Petrichor V and its mysteries. No two runs are EVER the same (unless you literally grab the same items to make the same build). It’s basically chaos in a box, and your heart rate will match the tempo. Fans swear by mastering item stacks, procs, and timed jumps to get further. Short, sweet, lethal, and so fun to play with friends!

Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 needs no introduction. The game absolutely took over when it was released and I was totally here for it; those memes were priceless. HD2 is the epitome of military satire done right with the huge stamp of “Super Patriotism” that had my character risking it all! Drop into tight-shot neon battlefields in co-op squads defending, reclaiming, or nuking the scenery for the glory of "Democracy”! The game’s stratagem system demands real-time button combos under fire like a Guitar Hero minigame from Hell, and occasional friendly-fire fragging keeps the tension high and the laughs even higher! Lore-wise, it’s 2185 and Super Earth still needs saving from Terminids, Bugs, Automatons, and more, but that’s just another Tuesday for you, Diver! This is another must play in my book for those of you who haven’t! And it releases on Xbox today!

Crab Champions

Say it with me! CRAB PEOPLE, CRAB PEOPLE!! No? Okay. But you thought looter shooters were quirky? Crab Champions says, “hold my claw”. Developed solo in UE, this chaos crustacean-driven shooter lets you swing miniguns and rocket launchers as a daggone crab. Yup. Waves of enemies, absurd island levels, and a banging soundtrack. You’ll drop into rapid 20‑40 minute runs, loop endlessly, build game-breaking loadouts, and feel like the kingpin of crustacean mayhem. Sort of plays like Risk of Rain 2 but as a crab! There are no microtransactions, just pure, ridiculous, crabbed-up fun. Also, progress scales exponentially so one run can go from zero to sixty in seconds. It’s another one that is a ton of fun with friends!

Space Marine 2

Another certified banger that needs no introductions. Space Marine 2 is peak content for Warhammer fans. The game slaps your taste buds with a vox-caster-worthy blend of shotgun brutality and lore-loaded heresy. Emphasis on the heresy because it’s cool! You’re Lieutenant Titus, an Ultramarine reborn to smite Tyranids with bolter brawn and chainsword chaos. Combat is extremely visceral, parry, execute, get gory. Larger environments, esports-scale skirmishes, co-op ops, and PvP rounds spice it up. Later levels let you duel Thousand Sons psykers in a plot-twist galaxy. Narrative has highs and misses, but nothing beats the feel of swatting a crowd of rippers like an angry god. Perfect for people who want to stomp heretics while binge-watching lore YouTube videos. LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!

Well, there you have it! Another incredible list of games that are in my top list from Steam’s TPS Fest! While they are all second sequels (except Crab Champions), they are all deserve praise for their unique takes on similar playstyles if you think about it! Probably aids to why they are all fun to play in my opinion!

But that’s just me! As always, I want to hear from you guys! What games are on your top list from Steam TPS Fest!? Any of the same games, any games that aren’t on this list? Let’s talk about it in the comments below and in Discord! If you go and try any of these games out for the first time, please do come back to the comments and let us know what you thought!
