What to Expect from Diablo IV
Diablo 4 is nearly here for everyone and those who have the Digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions can almost taste it! But what can we expect? Here’s a breakdown of some of the most notable elements of the game and the post-release process after it launches:
-
Starting off with something tangible, Blizzard has a pre-order for Limited Collectors Box with some really unique offerings the box comes with Candle of Creation, Occult Mousepad, Cloth Map of Sanctuary, Pin of the Horadrim, Diablo IV Collector’s Edition Art Book, Matted Fine Art Prints (x2) - 18.54" x 10.79". (Note that this doesn’t include a copy of the game) All of the pictures of these items feature stunning art and immaculate attention to detail so let’s hope the quality holds up after these are shipped on or before June 30th, 2023.
-
Crossplay on on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One!
-
Battle Pass with a premium level. Not something gamers are always excited about, but will keep some cash flowing while developers continue to work on updates and new elements for the game, and it does contain 27 Free Tiers along with 63 Premium Tiers. The pass will include premium currency used to purchase cosmetics, free tiers, premium seasonal cosmetics and aesthetics, and Season Boosts to accelerate XP which is available to everyone. The pass will sell for 1,000 Platnum which is about $10 US and they will also offer an accelerated pass for 2,8000 which is about $25 US and this will include tier skips and an emote.
-
Quarterly seasons in the game that will bring additional gameplay features, questlines, Battle Passes, Legendary Items, class balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and much more. Gamers will have time to get their bearings before the first season launches in mid to late July.
-
Season Journey. A resource that will help you navigate through the season and help you see what is available to you. It will be invaluable in helping you quickly level up your Battle Pass as you complete Chapters that are comprised of Objectives. Completing all Objectives in a Chapter will score you Seasonal rewards.
-
The Shop. Blizzard promises that “none of the Cosmetics sold in the Shop provide anything greater than aesthetic variety” so it’s good to hear that this element isn’t pay to win, it’s just pay to look cool!
-
Favor. A resource used to level up through the Tiers of the Battle Pass. Favor can also be obtained from completing quests, slaying monsters, participating in events, and more.
-
Season Blessings. These provide you with a bonus to earning XP, Gold, or Obols and are purchased with Smoldering Ashes which can be earned from the free tiers. Season Blessings can be upgraded and exist in unison with each other. They will require you to meet certain character requirements to claim since they do affect gameplay.
-
Five Classes to start. Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue and Soceress
-
