Russian Team Disqualified in Dota 2 Tournament after Drawing "Z" in a Game.

  • 1

The Russian team "Virtus Pro" - but competing under the name "Outsiders" was disqualified after one of the players, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko, drew a symbol "Z" against a team that included Ukrainian players in a qualifying game for Dota 2 ESL One Stockholm Major.

The letter "Z", though initially was just a marking on some Russian tanks prior to the invasion, has become a propaganda by the Kremlin state to show support for the war.

In a video released by Virtus Pro, Moskalenko claimed it was an "accident" - Considering the circumstances (the fact that they were playing against Ukrainian players), an apology is no where to be found. https://twitter.com/virtuspro/status/1520037227866337286

Currently, Russians are disqualifed from competing in 2022 World Cup - and recently Wimbledon (one of the most prestigious tennis tournament) banning Russians players from competing, drawing many criticisms from players such as Nadal as "unfair". Will this soon spread to the world of E-sports? What are your thoughts?!
