According to a news article from Kotaku, a Japanese professional Tekken player got fired from her team for body shaming remarks.

In a 15th February livestream Tanukana said "Men who are under 170 cm (5 ft 6.9) do not have human rights,"  She further said that they should consider undergoing bone lengthening surgery.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Tekken player apologized, saying she didn't mean to say anything that might be construed as hate speech. She said that her intention was not to belittle small people, but rather a mistaken attempt to express her admiration for tall people.

Tanukana has apologized once more, this time in a more formal tweet that mentions her sponsor Red Bull. According to Google Translate translation, Tanukana said "I am very sorry to all the fans who support me on a daily basis, to all the sponsors such as Red Bull, and to my selfish remarks, which caused unpleasant feelings and a great deal of inconvenience. I take it seriously that my remarks during the delivery are unacceptable and that my lack of awareness has led to it."

Then, on February 17, "CYCLOPS Athlete gaming" announced the termination of Tanukana's contract, citing that her comments and attitude were not acceptable to them, prompting the decision.
