Stardew Valley: 2 new games in the works!
As a die hard Stardew Valley fan, I was stoked to hear about 2 new upcoming games coming from the creator of Stardew Valley! Hoping he utilizes the battle tactic's used in Stardew and turns that into an adventure type game!
Earlier this week, Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone said on Twitter that he's working on two new projects, a non-farming game set in the Stardew Valley game world, and another that's even less well-defined at this point. The comments got a lot of attention, despite their very casual, offhand nature: An awful lot of people really like Stardew Valley, and the promise of more—even if only tangentially connected—is exciting.
There was so much uproar, in fact, that the next day Barone politely asked everyone to dial it back a bit.
"I’ve been deliberately secretive about it because I want to be able to work on it without any pressure for the time being," Barone said in the December 2018 devblog announcing that the project was on hold. "I also want to make sure the concept is fully realized before revealing anything, because once it’s out there, I’m going to have to fully commit to it. I’m a pretty cautious person when it comes to this sort of thing."
One thing we do know is that it's not Witchbrook, the magic school RPG announced in 2018 by Chucklefish that has been at times wrongly credited to Barone. Chucklefish published Stardew Valley prior to December 2018 (and still does on mobile), which occasionally leads to confusion about who "makes" the game; Barone clarified the nature of the relationship in a September 2019 update, and clarified today that he is not involved in the development of Witchbrook.
Good I'll be waiting for more info
Good, we wait for it.
I wonder how is going to be...
I hope the next game will be great like SDV.
Had a bit of a nostalgic moment right now remembering Harvest Moon for the SNES. Had no clue this game was like that.
This game is incredible! If you haven't played it, I highly suggest you should. I played all the og harvest moons too. This is just as great if not better.
