Apex Legends PC Server Issues Arise

  • 10

Apex Legends is having some PC server issues this morning. Around 5:00 am PT users on the PC platform began reporting issues logging into Respawn Entertainment‘s popular battle royale game. Not only were many players prevented from opening the game, but also many players already in-game reported consistent disconnects. Electronic Arts has confirmed the issue and says that it’s being worked on.

The exact issue that’s causing problems in Apex Legends isn’t wholly clear. The bulk of users are reporting that while the game is at least opening, it never loads in entirely. All that these players see is the typical Apex Legends opening screen featuring the logo. Bloodhound, Wraith, and Gibraltar are seen, as well as a spinning loading circle that will go on forever.

However, other users report that the loading screen has completed for them only to result in an error. After the loading screen completes, a message is shown reading “Disconnect: PersistenceReadComplete for data storage “Respawn” failed.” Given that Respawn Entertainment is the developer, the “Respawn” error code seems to imply an obvious issue — no one can connect to their servers.

Given how early in the morning Apex Legends‘ server issues began, 5:00 am where Respawn’s studio is located, Electronic Arts managed to post an update with relative quickness. It arrived around 5:30 am PT when the official EA Help social media account posted a statement
