Deals on 2018's best games
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is $40 ($20 off) on the Humble Store, which is a pretty great deal on a mini-continent packed with warriors and monsters.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is $40 ($10 off) on the Blizzard shop. It's not WoW's best expansion, but since you don't need to buy the entire backlog of 'em, this is a good way to get in.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is $15 ($15 off) on the Humble Store, a great deal for one of our favorite co-op games of 2018. Grab an extra for a friend and smash some rats.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is $30 ($10 off) on Blizzard's store. If you were lucky enough to nab the base game while it was free, keep an eye on Forsaken over the big sale weekend. $30 is already well worth such a redemptive expansion, though.
Far Cry 5 is $30 ($30 off) on the Humble Store which is—wait a minute, Far Cry 5 came out in 2018? Yeesh. It's a great open world romp through Montana, the perfect winter break marathon game.
Frostpunk is $20 ($10) on the Humble Store. Accidentally become a ruinous dictator in the aftermath of catastrophic climate change! Try and fail to please your citizens. Cry a lot! It sounds dismal, and it is, but we really, really like this sad city builder.
Final Fantasy 15 is $25 ($25 off) on the Humble Store. That's not a bad price on the strangest Final Fantasy and best road trip you'll have this year.
Grand Theft Auto 5's Premium Online Edition is $33 ($27 off) on the Humble Store. It wasn't exactly released this year, but with regular updates and tons of active players, a deal on anything that kickstarts your online crime spree is worth sharing.
Great games under $20
The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition is $20 ($50 off) on the Humble Store. It is, and always will be, an excellent deal. As one of the best RPGs ever made, it's worth much more, especially with both of the equally excellent included expansions. Quit delaying. It's time to understand why we love our big bath man so much.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is $12 ($38 off) on Fanatical if you use the code "Blackfriday10' at checkout. Turn hundreds of randomly generated orcs into hamburger for the price of a hamburger. Not bad.
Overwatch: Legendary Edition is $20 ($40 off) on Blizzard's store. It's a great deal on a class-based shooter that doesn't quit surprising. The latest hero, Ashe, can summon a steampunk robot friend named Bob as her ult. Bob dresses like you. It's a robot dressing sim, is what we're saying.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is $15 ($45 off) on the Humble Store. While it's not the novelty The Stick of Truth was, The Fractured But Whole brings a bit more strategy to a light superhero RPG set in the morally decrepit town.
A Hat in Time is $17.40 ($12.60 off) on the Humble Store. A bright, creative homage to '90s 3D platformers, A Hat in Time evades becoming tired, nostalgic nonsense with a unique and modern take on the genre.
Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is $12.50 ($37.50 off) on the Humble Store. So it's not space, we know, but Deserts of Kharak easily earns the Homeworld name. Exercise that z-axis with one of the best RTS games in recent years.
The Jackbox Party Pack 3 is $16.24 ($8.76 off) on the Humble Store. Everyone needs at least one Jackbox Party Pack in their Steam library. Strange trivia, awkward drawings, and grotesque wordplay in one package, and you only need phones to play. Bust it out during the holidays at a bleak family gathering.
Yakuza 0 is $11.60 ($8.40 off) on Fantatical as a Star Deal, so it won't last too long. That's nearly half-off for the best mini-game collection we've ever played. There's a massive open world brawler included, too, as a nice bonus.
Great games under $10
The Bayonetta & Vanquish pack is $9 ($31 off) on Fanatical after using the code "Blackfriday10" at checkout. That's 10 bucks for two of Platinum's best games in the best shape they've ever been on the best platform.
Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition is $8.40 ($31.20 off) on the Humble Store. It's still one of the best looter shooters out there, and with every bit of DLC included in the GOTY edition, this could be The Final Game for you. The Final Entertainment.
StarCraft Remastered is $7.50 ($7.50 off) on Blizzard's store. What needs to be said? Get a great update to one of the best RTS games ever made.
Titanfall 2 is $5 ($15 off) on Origin. The multiplayer population might be small, but five bucks for Titanfall 2's creative, breezy campaign is still one hell of a deal. Don't sleep on one of the best FPS campaigns in recent years.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is $7.50 ($22.50 off) on Origin. Battlefront's isn't nearly as confident as its Battlefield sister series, but it's easy to recommend checking out for the price of a cheap matinee. The campaign is simple, but entertaining, and those multiplayer battles are worth flailing around in for the spectacle alone.
Great games under $5
Civilization 5 is $4.50 ($25.50 off) on Fanatical if you use code "Blackfriday10" at checkout. With a new expansion just announced for its sequel, $5 is safe enough to see if you're capable ruling the world before enveloping it in terrible floods and/or fire.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is $4 ($18 off) on Fantatical after using code "Blackfriday10" at checkout. Pop on some internet radio, join a convoy, and forget your worries in one of the most surprisingly relaxing games we've played.
The Inner World is $3.75 ($11 off) on GOG. It's a cute, surprisingly dark adventure game about small folks that live in a wind tunnel. Adventure games are still where the weird's at on PC.
