Dead by Daylight - Halloween Event "Hallowed Blight" Starts Today

Game designer Mark Desmarais called it "our biggest, best event ever". The "Hallowed Blight" has been teased for a while (1,2,3), but today it is finally going live. The event not only brings new lore to Dead By Daylight, but also 7 new cosmetic sets. Two of those sets will be for the Survivors Claudette and Dwight with the rest going to the Killers Doctor, Hillbilly, Huntress, Trapper and Wraith.

Survivor players will be able to gain event points by extracting nectar from poisonous plants, while Killers have to get the survivors onto special event hooks. Those event points can then be exchanged for up to 3 event cosmetics. It is notable though that players will have to play both sides to earn the necessary "Putrid Serum" required to do 3 exchanges at 10 vials each. You will also be able to purchase all cosmetics during and after the event using "Auric Cells" (bought using real money).

Behaviour Interactive will also host a forum contests with the following categories: artwork, costume and pumpkin carving. More information on how to enter and the prizes will be available on the official forum later today.

The update includes a few more changes, like bringing back the Halloween themed lobby, med-kits and flashlights.

I was really looking forward to being able to grind all those cosmetics (which was falsely assumed by the community to be the case), but 3 pieces is still better than none. Now the only question remaining is: Which pieces will I pick?

How about you guys? Are you playing Dead By Daylight? Which of the new cosmetics are your favourites? Personally I'm really tempted to get the Doctor head and Trapper body :)
