  • 1165

Our friends at Studio Z3D are announcing their Kickstarter campaign!

Protoball is a fast-paced futuristic eSports game. Players face off against each other athletically maneuvering around the arena trying to outscore their opponents. The game is essentially a futuristic blend of Soccer/Football and Basketball with FPS gameplay mechanics. In addition to the core sport mode there will be Dodgeball and Lasertag!

Now on Kickstarter and Coming to Steam Early Access after the Kickstarter!

Nope, again, since you deleted the first nope.

Edit: Since I'm not here to discourage devs from materializing their dreams, going to post a reason why this game isn't the next big thing for me.

It's clearly to me that I'm in front of a Rocket League remastered FPS edition. The concept is nice, but that video is really bad if the concept would be implemented in such manner. Don't make it FPS also make the arena much more original. I still don't know why you didn't go with the Galactik Football from CN, when you started this.

Haha Galactik Football, thanks for the nostalgia!

Same, this game isn't for me, and I would like this kind of self-advertisement to not be in the News section. If someone wants to advertise their game then they should do so on a forum, not write about it in the "News" section.

We Appreciate everyone's comments! Thanks for the feedback! We think that if you actually try this PROTOTYPE you'll find that it's about as similar to Rocket League as FIFA or NBA... The only similarity is really that a ball goes into a goal for points. The idea was born independently of Rocket League. We are grateful that Rocket League managed to pave the way for a Sports based eSport, and we think Psyonix is an amazing studio, but we're in no way trying to bite Rocket League. The comments are flattering though.

No one game is going to be for everyone, so that is entirely understood, no hard feelings what-so-ever. However we think you should actually try the game before shutting it down. Of course we think that about everything; books, movies, food... You can't know what you don't know ;)

And it's in the Alienware Arena news section because Alienware is AWESOME! I don't know if I'd call this self advertising, per se, because Studio Z is making the game and Alienware was so kind as to advertise this for us. We didn't write our own blog-post hi-jacking someone else's forum...

Also everyone please remember, EVERY graphic, effect, ARENA, characters etc... are all place holders! This is our Prototype/Proof of Concept! It works great and we're sure you'll have a blast, especially when Dodgeball and Laser Tag come :D We put all of our effort into gameplay, not the graphics! That's what the Kickstarter is for!

Thank you!

I'd also like to say a special thank you to the Pledges that have come from this very site! <3 You're the best!

PS if you want to try the game the alpha is open and free!
