Warhammer: Vermintide 2 sold in half a million copies in less than a week
Last Thursday, an independent Swedish studio called Fatshark to players around the world introduced Warhammer: Vermintide 2, a sequel of the critically acclaimed Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide in 2015. Only four days later, the developer boasted that its new title in that timeframe was able to interest more than half a million people.
Simply put, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was sold in half a million copies within 96 hours, unlike the predecessor which gathered the same number of players in six months after the release. We can say that this year's sequel, which so far published reviews are praising with high quality standards, has reached a new commercial level.
"We are proud and happy that gamers all over the world have adopted and fell in love with Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Half a million copies was the goal that we wanted to achieve, but we did not expect to be achieved in less than a week after launching the game," he said. Martin Wahlund, Director of Fatsharka.
