Oculus Rift headsets mysteriously stopped working around the world

Seventh March 2018 will not be remembered as a happy day for Oculus Rift and its owners. Namely, users of this VR headset today have come to a significant problem because the same simply refused to work on PC with the message that the device might need an update then that you should try and use it after a few minutes.

This seems to be an Oculus Runtime service certificate that has expired, which can be solved in that way that your PC you return back in time and put it on a date earlier than today's, 07 March. Of course, this is just a temporary solution, and on that permanent and official one its already being worked.

This inconvenience for Oculus Rift comes exactly at the moment when the same achieved its first "win" after it was revealed that more people use this device than HTC Vive. This may be the case for all other days, but for today it is not.

That´s Skynet for sure.

But seriously if it´s only a certification expiration is not that big of a deal.

Kill switch activated.  Go out and buy a new Oculus Rift if you want to continue to play.
