[OVERWATCH] How to unlock paid League skins for FREE on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Overwatch fans can unlock official League skins without spending any cash.

Overwatch League skins are currently only available by spending money, and not through loot boxes.

However, a new Blizzard scheme now gives fans the chance to unlock team skins by watching Overwatch League matches on Twitch.

Fans who watch Overwatch League Twitch streams will receive League Tokens that can be redeemed against team skins and other eSports items.

Fans will, however, need have to watch a lot of Overwatch League streams, because skins cost 100 tokens each.

Blizzard explains more in a new blog post: "To earn one (1) League Token per map win, start by logging in to your Blizzard Battle.net account and linking it with your account on Twitch.tv, MLG.com, or overwatchleague.com.

"Each time a map concludes during a live broadcast, eligible viewers will earn a League Token."

Tokens expire at the end of the year, with the rewards scheme continuing through the entire first season of the Overwatch League.

As Blizzard points out, some viewers will be rewarded with 100 tokens after the end of matches.

"Also, a percentage of lucky fans viewing the live broadcast when a match ends will be awarded 100 League Tokens, enough for a home-team skin of their choice!"

The Overwatch League rewards are available to unlock now.

The news comes after Blizzard confirmed the end date and time for Competitive season 8.

Sunday evening promises to be a busy night for Overwatch players, because competitive season 8 will come to an end at the stroke of midnight on Monday, February 26.

Fortunately, there's not long to wait before the start of season 9, which kicks off on Thursday, March 1 at midnight.

Blizzard has also outlined all of the latest rewards for players who rank in competitive season 8.

"If you completed your placement matches during Season 8, you will be eligible to receive a special spray and player icon," the post reads.

"These will be unlocked automatically when you log into your account the first time after the season ends.

"If you are placed within the Top 500 players on your platform (and in your region) at the end of the season, you’ll receive an extra player icon and animated spray on top of the other seasonal rewards."
