Next Assassin's Creed could bring us the history of feudal Japan

  • 1005

Earlier this week, Ubisoft boasted how Assassin's Creed Origins was the third best-selling title in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and exactly this kind of enthusiasm of the fans made them wanted to be more concerned with expanding the adventure in Old Egypt instead of presenting each year a new Assassin that will give us a short lecture on the historical period in which he was born.

But in spite of this, the French publishing house wondered what history and culture would fans or owners of the last part of the series would like to explore in the new game, and the suggestions offered suggest that they could immerse themselves in the so-so dark era where we will meet the legendary British King Arthur and more closely get acquainted with the story of his sword Excalibur; then we have the period of the Black Death, one of the most pivotal pandemics in our history, with the French heroine Joan of Arc; we must not forget the invasion of the Mongol under the great conquest of Genghis Khan; and ultimately remains to many the most interesting period of the general battles in feudal Japan.

Of course, other historical periods and events such as the Nomadic conquest of England, the Hannibal invasion of Rome, the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors, the Spanish conquest of America, the conflict of the imperial dynasties of medieval China, the October revolution which led to the abolition of the Russian Republic and the creation of the USSR even the Peloponnesian wars between Sparta and Athens at the time of ancient Greece. There are also indications that the future Assassin's Creed could present the period of the Spanish Inquisition with which in 2016 introduced us the film with Michael Fassbender in the main acting role.

Anyway, it's clear that we will not be watching new video game from this long-lasting series this year, but we're interested in what historical period you'd love to get more familiar with in a new assassin adventure.

Feudal Japan sounds like a sure thing with the popularity of the Total War Shogun series, there is a huge appeal for that period.

If they choose feudal Japan as the setting, and depending on release timing, Ubisoft could be competing with Ghost of Tsushima.  Ghost of Tsushima is a PS4 exclusive, while the new Assassin's Creed game would be cross-platform, but this could cost Ubisoft a significant quantity of the PS4 sales.  I look forward to seeing both games ...

Maybe I'll return to the series when they will finish em. Wait..they wont.

I prefer to be ancient China, but feudal Japan is not bad either
