THQ Nordic bought Saints Row, Metro, Dead Island and other series
With the breakdown of the publisher THQ in 2013, the rights to numerous video games and serials were sold. The biggest customers were then Nordic Games and Deep Silver, which between each other shared Darksiders, Red Faction, Saints Row, Metro and many other serials.
Since then, Austrian Nordic Games have continued to record good business and have become owners of several German development teams. Last year the company was renamed to THQ Nordic, and today it has announced its largest expansion so far. For 121 million euros, they bought a German company, Koch Media, and with it, Deep Silver then the games and studios in their possession.
THQ Nordic has so far had 86 franchises in its possession, and with this acquisition has gained some very significant ones. Under its wing, it will now have Saints Row, Metro, Dead Island, Homefront and other serials, including the new Kingdom Come: Deliverance (if the same becomes series). This with Ubisoft makes them the second most powerful game publisher in Europe.
