New free mode comes to Ghost Recon: Wildlands, along with loot boxes

Time has come for Ubisoft to gives us a third PvP expansion for Ghost Recon: Wildlands co-operative shooter. Namely, a free update called Extended Ops is available from today, January 25, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This update delivers exclusive new maps as well as a new mode called Extraction. It is, in fact, about mission in which one team is responsible for locating and saving two targets of great importance from the enemy's hand, and the other, as you can guess, must ensure that such a situation does not come to fruition. According to Ubisoft, no team has any dominance over the other, since all players will have to equally have a good strategic calculation to stay alive and secure a victory.

Furthermore, Institute and Garage are two new maps that you will be able to explore through Quickplay and Ranked modes, and also new equipment arrives.

It should be noted that the same update for Ghost Recon: Wildlands will bring so-called battle crates that will hide the cosmetics "to complement your customization experience, both in the campaign and Ghost War modes."

Ubisoft claims that battle crates will not have any impact on gameplay or your progress in Wildlands, and you do not have to worry that you will be buried with the things you already own. "During the development of the battle crates boxes," they say, "we made sure that the implementation is just about what the player gets and at the same time does not affect the gameplay or the player's progress."

Well I guess it's to balance the fact they are adding loot boxes...

Loot boxes are just an evil way to get you to gamble your money away.
If they were even slightly honest, they'd just let you buy the stuff you want in the cash shop instead of hoping to get something useful in a loot box. Of course, I'd retract my complaint if the loot boxes were completely free, but when the heck has that one happened?

I know I don't like the loot boxes but will reserve judgement on the rest for the time being.

That is due to the simple fact that some "gamers" don't care about anything except the new shiny.  By some, I mean millions.
