Assassin's Creed: Origins DLC Trailer Promises A Closer Look At The Early Brotherhood

  • 41

Ubisoft has some plans to further explore the origins of the Assassin's Brotherhood with Assassin's Creed: Origins. The newest expansion for the game will take players even deeper into the origins of the Brotherhood and what eventually led up to the original Assassin's Creed.

The trailer that was posted up over on Ubisoft's YouTube channel isn't very long, clocking in at just a minute and a half, but it's enough to give gamers a glimpse at what to expect from the new DLC, which is being called Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones.

The trailer starts with a look at the group known as The Order, as they proclaim that the Sinai belongs to them. We then get a bit of narration from the game's original protagonist, Bayek, as he explains that the Brotherhood is still young, and that they must take out the members of The Order in order to write the future.

We don't get to see much of what's new in the DLC, but we do get to see some of the villains that players will encounter and get a setup of how Bayek and Aya will continue their fight against the rising force of The Order, led by the Roman Empire.

Apparently, this will not quite establish how The Order becomes the Templar, but we will get more details on the formation of the Brotherhood and the Assassin's Creedthat they abide by.

In the original story of Assassin's Creed: Origins, it followed Bayek and his wife as they attempted to seek revenge against a mysterious group who had killed their son, all in an attempt to understand the mysteries of the inter-dimensional beings that came before.

Players assumed the role of Bayek, as he started out as a basic Medjay -- a protector of that small region of the land -- and eventually had to increase his skills and improve his abilities in order to eventually upgrade his fighting prowess to become an assassin.

As far as origin stories are concerned, the game actually does do a fairly good job of making players work to get stronger, and put for the effort to eventually become a hardened, killer from the shadows.

The story expansion will pick up where the base game ended, which saw the rise of the Roman Empire and the fall of the previous leaders.

Ubisoft's upcoming story DLC based on The Hidden Ones will be available starting January 23rd. If you want the new content you can actually purchase it right now for the PC, PS4 or Xbox One. However, if you already purchased the season pass, you'll be able to access the new DLC for Assassin's Creed: Origins without having to pay extra for it.

Planetary

I hope they make it feel rich and deep. I don't want a crummy cash-grab!

Interstellar

I look forward to seeing what this DLC offers before I shell out cash. I'll give it a month and see what others think and then decide for myself if its worth it for me.

Interstellar

I've always liked the franchise and even if it had it's ups and downs.

And then even deeper, and in the end we will play for the cave assassin =)))
