Blizzard again suing Korean hackers, threatens them prison sentences
On South Korean's Overwatch forum appeared news that Blizzard confirmed suspicions of violations of game's laws and potential match fixing. Korean prosecutors have been involved, which have already met such practices in the past. To the investigation has also entered the national cyber security police for alleged creation of a program that helps in setting up and hacking matches. After almost a full year, the investigation was fruit-bearing and a total of thirteen suspects were arrested.
The new amendment to the law on online fraud in South Korea came into force in the sixth month of last year and brought more rigorous fines, including prison sentences. Those which are proven guilty threatens 18 thousand dollars in fines and two years behind bars. This change of law was culminated by a juvenile fellow which is the maker of the aim assist program for Overwatch.
Blizzard runs the battle with Korean hackers since Overwatch exist and it is difficult to find them because of their accounts at popular Internet cafes that are difficult to track. Developers have gone so far as changing the way players login onto their accounts at such cafes.
We all agree that cheating does not belong in the games and we hope that Blizzard sooner or later will put to end the players to which the game alone is not enough.
