Something is rotten in the new Monster Hunter World gameplay

  • 475

Today, the developer put out a short walkthrough of the grotesque and toxic Rotten Vale. Due to the extreme nature of the environment, the region is a breeding ground for resilient monsters. Being exposed to death and decay not only makes these creatures incredibly tough, but they also have a few unique tricks up their sleeves. You'll have to use the most powerful weapons you can make to defeat them.

One of the main features of this area is that the monsters utilize their environment more so than the ones found in other places. For example, a giant lizard-like animal coats its body with tar and then rolls around in the bones of dead creatures to gain bone armor. You'll have to get through that first to do some serious damage to the softer hide underneath. However, that's just one of the many challenges the Rotten Vale presents. Patience is the key to success in this area.

Yes, I concur.  They have done a fine job here.

Never played a Monster Hunter game before so I hope theres a beta for PC so I can try it out.  One thing I didn't like from that video is how long the fights last.

I'm new to these games, but this looks awesome.

Gonna have to keep an eye on this one!
