Prepare for another anniversary of Diablo with the new Darkening of Tristram

Diablo series celebrates its 21st birthday tomorrow, and on the ocassion of this anniversary Blizzard decided to re-activate The Darkening of Tristram, an event in which through limited you will be able to experience the original Diablo through Diablo 3. This is not the first time that this is happening but for all those that have purchased Diablo 3 this year, it will surely be a treat.

The Darkening of Tristram will be available from 1 January to 30 January of next year in PC and console versions. Players with retro style graphics will return to the original dungeons of first Diablo and clash with known enemies. Of course, all the loot you pick up will be from the first Diablo.

By the way, till the end of the year there is also an discount sale within which Diablo 3 can be bought in half price, for only ten euros.

I don't get why they'd only keep this a temporary event, but I'm even more surprised they haven't released a HD Diablo 2.

Just watched youtube video of Darkening of Tristram and I like the darker retro style graphics better than the colorful D3 style. They should keep this event permanent.
