Okami HD on PC is 30 FPS Locked

A developer with the name WBacon posted the following :

"More info on the PC version of Okami HD

The game supports KB/M for in-game traversal. Menu will be KB-driven.

The game also natively supports Steam Controller out of box in addition to Xbox (XInput) and DualShock4 (DInput) controller for those who care.

More importantly, the celestial brush movement can be controlled by mouse,trackball/touchpad,and of course, Steam Controller trackpad! ;-)

Frame rate will be locked to 30fps. We actually experimented with 60fps and uncapped frame mode , but unfortunately it breaks the game logic, collision detection, and anim speed in certain areas of the game. The reality is that it'd take a Hurculean effort, time and cost to manually fix and QA by trial and error since we're working with legacy code from PS3 that was originally intended with 30fps in mind.

Fortunately , the game is not a fast twitch game so a locked 30 fps actually works well for the game."

The original Okami  was first released on the PS2 in Japan in 2006, before making its way to Europe in 2007.

Okami HD will arrive for PS4, Xbox One and Steam on December 12.

What do you guys think? I believe the developer when he says that 30 fps actually works well for this game.

For some reason i can tolerate 30 fps on older games they feel smoother and i can get used to it. But on newer games i notice it immediately nowadays ,it really feels jaggy and weird after so many years of getting used to 60 fps.

Already seen many people complaining and refunding the game on steam forums because of this . Is it a deal breaker for you?

Given that pre-order games are given a special courier in DOTA 2, then you can take it. Sell the courier and pay back half the cost of the game. Well, or at least a third.

Steam dosnt have video ingame, and the price tag is great a little

Doesn't really seem like it's a lazy port, so I don't have a problem with the FPS. Obviously there's a vocal group that will.

It's disappointing to hear that Okami HD is locked at 30 fps. 30 fps wouldn't have been an issue for me many years ago, but I've gotten too used to the standard 60 fps of pc gaming. I guess I'll just have to try it to see if I like it or not.
