( DO WE STILL CARE? ) The dates for the next 3 Steam Sales have been leaked

A lot of preparing needs to be done before a Steam Sale. I like to give my dog my wallet to look after while I flee to a remote, secret location with no internet access. It can be tough predicting when they'll start, however. Thankfully, the next three Steam Sale dates have all been leaked.

Three developer sources confirmed the dates with Kotaku, providing images, so the leak certainly seems to be legitimate. It covers the Halloween Sale, Autumn Sale and Winter Sale.

Steam Halloween Sale: October 26, 2017 - November 1, 2017

Steam Autumn Sale: November 22, 2017 - November 28, 2017

Steam Winter Sale: December 21, 2017 - January, 2018

This should give you plenty of time to start whatever your personal Steam Sale ritual is. They should all kick off around 6pm GMT.

I’d better give the dog my wallet now...

Speaking for myself, the slight thrill of an impending Steam Sale is long gone. They used to be pretty wild years ago, but now that you can't even grab a few gifts, I may not even bother taking a look at the "bargains".

Is it just me?

It's not even about the flash sales for me, since i understand it as i said here https://na.alienwarearena.com/ucf/show/1498559/boards/general-1/ForumPost/steam-sales-not-as-good-as-they-used-to-be and if i'm not wrong, valve made more profit when they removed the flash daily sales.

However it had a nice charm with the whole interactive events they used to have.

No, not the sticker album bullshit from this summer sale, treating us like we are 8 year olds. But the whole Coal event in the winter sale, the introduction of Gems, the Monster Sale, the whole Racing thing where you were pitted on a random team, the whole item hunt thing.

They were pretty fun, it made a whole community discussing stuff about each event and it was nice to always be excited about what silly interactive game they would bring next.

Since they removed these interactive events, it no longer has the same charm, now it's just hoarding sets of cards until the next summer/winter sale to get their exclusive event cards from making badges.

So that's why people don't really care as much anymore. Especially when you consider that nowadays there are many 3rd party websites selling games for hella cheap, making the steam event sales more irrelevant.

Oh yeah there's also that bullshit update that no longer allows us to store gifts on our inventory. Lovely...

We all reach a point when the amount of hours needed to finish all the games in our steam library exceeds the time we have left to live.

So when we ponder whether to buy a new game or not, a decisive question rises: when am I gonna play this anyway?

Yes Sulimen, I agree. Even when the flash sales stopped being jaw-dropping ( 5 or 6 years ago maybe? ), my firends and I did enjoy the sale events, with the monster one being the last that was any fun.

Don't get me started on that sticker thing. I mean ...what was THAT? The best we could come up with was that Valve had decided to skip a few generations and target very very young players (perhaps unborn lol) , and even then, had missed the mark. On the other hand, it seems some people enjoyed it. I can only wish that I were so easily entertained. Putting out the garbage would be an adventure!

As irritatingly grindy as the Monster Sale game was, it was a game and I'd love to see something like that again.

I think steam sales are just as good as they where. People simply view them diffrently. Back then a good indie game for 5$ was killer deal and novelty, now it is the new standard sale price. The industry followed the trend, and now a 75% sale on a good game does not feel that great, because there are tons of other games to choose from.

This year's reductions are insufficient.

i hope next discounts will be well

Interstellar

I always wait for sales and hope to makes some profit by selling cards. I also craft the badge if there was any
