Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered listed as Standalone Release for next month

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would make a lot of money if sold separately. Activision likes money. It has to happen eventually.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered may be in for a standalone release, something series fans have been asking for pretty much since announce.

Previously only available with special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (which are getting thin on the ground), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered was listed on game rental service Gamefly.

According to the listing, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will release on June 20 on PS4 and July 20 on Xbox One. The pattern fits the usual PlayStation Call of Duty exclusivity window.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Gamefly pages have since been pulled, but not before CharlieIntel got screenshots.

Getting out the salt shaker for a minute, it’s possible that it was some sort of mistake, or that it indicates a Gamefly-exclusive arrangement rather than a general release. Neither of those explanations are as simple as “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be released standalone next month though, are they.

A standalone Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered makes a lot of sense, and seems more likely than Activision spinning off Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Zombies content for standalone release, a thing that’s actually happening.

If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is going standalone, expect confirmation at E3 2017.

I was really surprised as I visited the store page of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered yesterday and saw that the 30€ prizetag was NOT for the game itself - it was for an upgrade from the regular Infinite Warfare to the Legacy version that includes(!!!) MW Remastered xD

Keyresellers are listing the CoD: Infinite Warefare Legacy version for ~ 35€ - that's even more funny.

They should make it free for everyone who had purchased original one in the past like Bethesda did with Skyrim

Good to hear, don't have to buy IW to get this. But even with the CODMWR there's mixed reactions... If only the servers was like the original COD4 that allow bigger player counts. Remember the days of 64 player Shipment anyone? ;)

Cool to see the best version of COD in a refreshing version

Awesome! I hope there will be discounts for those who have the original
