No! You won’t need to have purchased COD: Black Ops Cold War to enjoy The Zombies Mode Free Week, which will take place between January 14th and 21st, 2021.
Within the period quoted, you must search for the item “Zombie Free Access” in the respective store of your platform (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X or PC, by Blizzard).
For those who will play for free multiplayer will not be enabled, but you will be able to enjoy 3 game modes:
1º DIE MASCHINE
An abandoned World War II laboratory in Poland containing a massive particle collider has opened a rift to unexplained monstrosities and living forces alive. As part of the international response team known as Requiem, you’ll infiltrate the DZ and try to survive waves of zombies through multiple rounds as you discover the secrets of “Die Maschine”, or exude early with your life intact (and some big rewards to boot).
With its initial area honoring the original world at War Zombies map that started it all, “Die Maschine” is a round Zombie experience where up to four players can appear and try to survive the horrors that are waiting. Work together using dozens of weapons, lethal and tactical gear, powerful Scorestreaks, and special field upgrades – such as an Energy Mine or an instant heal through the Aura of Healing – that coexist by killing zombies.
Unlocked some new Cold War weapons through the Battle Pass system? Bring them to the fight through their initial charge and upgrade them along the way. You can also equip yourself with a variety of Wall Buy weapons, take a chance with a random weapon taken from the Mysterious Box, or give any weapon a serious boost through the Pack-a-Punch Machine.
2º CRANKED
Need a little more urgency to stay alive in “Die Maschine”, besides being dominated by waves of zombies? Give Cranked a chance.
As usual, you and your squad will be transported with a cargo of your choice. However, once the first zombie hits the ground, the Manivelado Timer begins to drift away. Your Operator will explode if you don’t kill another zombie before the timer reaches zero, and the timer gets shorter and shorter as the game progresses! Keep an eye on the Rotated Timer, which temporarily freezes the timer for all players.
Watch the clock – and your six – to survive this new zombies game mode… and make sure to put the local ping system to use when playing with your squad.
3º ONSLAUGHT (PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVE*)
PlayStation players can also access Onslaught, the new two-player zombie experience on Black Ops Cold War multiplayer maps.
In this mode, your duo will use whatever is in their charges to fight hyperaggression waves of undead forces. Unlike traditional zombies, a dark Orb aether will limit you to a specific space on the map until you are carried by the souls of the undead.
As the safe area changes, expect increasingly difficult outbreaks of enemies, including incredibly powerful elites, to test your duo’s survival skills. Kill enough of these Elites, and you’ll earn special Bronze, Silver or Gold rankings and unique weapon designs.
