The 2070 is kind of in a strange space IMO. The 2060 seems more than adequate to handle 1080p+1440, while the 2070 can't really do much for 4K. So the 2080 is the 4k card, the 2060 handles 1080 and 1440... The 2070 is just an expensive middleground.

Seems to me it would be best to go "budget" and get the 2060 or all in and get the 2080. Of course, that is pending what kind of deals are available when you are building a PC.
