Hellblade VR Edition Announced for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Free with Steam Version

Ninja Theory announced that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will get a virtual reality mode on July 31st.According to the press release, the VR edition will be compatible with both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and it won’t be just a separate mode or an addition. It’ll be the whole game playable in virtual reality.

The good news doesn’t end there, as the VR Edition will be completely free to those who already own the Steam version of the game, or purchase it in the future.

Unfortunately, the mode won’t be available on PlayStation VR, but that isn’t very surprising, considering that Ninja Theory recommends a GTX 1080 graphics card as a requirement for your rig running the game in virtual reality.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

I was thinking about getting the game. Now i'm even more interested but just worried about the game working on my rig for the VR edition.

I haven't really gotten into VR outside a few PSVR games. I'm mixed on it. I think there is a lot of potential especially for single-player and atmosphere/environmental games, but otherwise it removes you from the surroundings.

Very immersive.
