Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - we have the first trailer and all the essential information

  • 33

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has just been announced, in a somewhat different way than in the previous years. Namely, in the focus was immediately put a multiplayer component of the game and is presented with direct gameplay. Judging by the first displays, Black Ops 4 is not an extremely futuristic title, but is not even placed in some of the historical conflicts.

MULTIPLAYER IS AGAIN GROUNDED

In this release of Call of Duty there will be no double jumps and no running on the wall, but the game will follow the last year's "boots on the ground" approach. However, the game continues to be very fast and focused on fast moving. This will be affected by special class skills, such as hooks with what players can quickly drag themselves to an enemy. If this reminds you of Overwatch and Roadhog, that's not the only thing similar to it, because here will be also placed a barricade and carrying the same, think Reinhardt.

Black Ops 4 will pay special attention to weapons that will be more diverse and more numerous than ever before. It will be able to upgrade and modify with a bunch of different add-ons, and the effects of these changes should be visible both in visual and in gameplay.

Healing in multiplayer has also changed and is no longer automatic. The decision on when a player will manually restore energy will now be part of the tactics.

ZOMBIES START FROM THE BEGINNING

Zombie campaign in the game with story will not be related to previous parts (though it never really was?). Inspiration will draw from real history, but also from that imaginary one. It will be placed in several different periods and thematic units, including also one without firearms.

Characters in the Zombie campaign will be named Scarlet, Bruno, Diego and Shaw. Activision has envisioned that this Zombie mode becomes an activity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis so for that purpose will this mode make more accessible to new players by introducing Zombie Rush (simpler version of Zombies), tutorials, and various settings of difficulty.

By release of the game Zombie campaign will bring three maps.

PC VERSION WILL GET A SPECIAL TREATMENT

Interestingly, Activision this year gave a special attention to PC version of the game. The big news is that the game will use the Battle.net platform, which means it will not be sold on Steam and Microsoft Store like previous games. The game will have all the appropriate PC options, including support for 21:9 monitors, FOV slider, 4K resolution, etc. On polishing of PC version will work a separate team, Beenox.

CONFIRMED BATTLE ROYALE MODE

Just like it was speculated, Black Ops 4 will have its battle royale mode. That part is no surprise, but it is a surprise that in mode we'll drive different vehicles and aircraft. Yes, you read well, for the first time in Call of Duty multiplayer players will control the vehicles.

Players in Blackout will not use some generic fighters, instead they will control already known characters from the Black Ops games, so in the same matches will battle Mason, Reznov and the team from Zombie campaign.

By release, Blackout mode will be played only on one map, the largest in the history of the Call of Duty series.

THERE WON'T BE SINGLEPLAYER CAMPAIGN

So, its true - the new Call of Duty no longer contains the traditional singleplayer campaign. Its absence will fill out two additional map in Zombies mode, as well as the Blackout described above, which is essentially a battle royale mode.
