We won't see Borderlands 3 at E3, supposedly

Until yesterday, we considered that reveal of Borderlands 3 at the E3 next month is almost a done deal. We know that the game has been developing for some time and that 2K Games plans to launch it by April of next year. However, if its to trust Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford, this announcement will not happen at the E3.

“For example, I could write it out now precisely and specifically that ‘Borderlands 3’ will not be at E3 and many of you will choose not to believe it. Many of you will find a way to interpret the intent to suit what you want to believe regardless of what is true. In fact, this aspect of human nature is so powerful that it is more likely this thread will increase the volume of the debate rather than diminish it. It feels as if ‘Borderlands 3’ may be destined to be the next ‘Half-Life 3’ in that regard." - Pitchford said.

Now, nowhere is not said that the game will not be shown at one of the E3 conferences. The fact that it will not be on the E3 can mean that its visitors (or journalists) will not be able to physically play it on the spot.

However, it is quite possible that reveal of the game he's not saving for the E3 but for another occasion. On the other hand, it would not be the first time that developer is lying claiming that his game will not appear at the E3. Throughout the years, we had a whole line of examples of how with lies was tried to hide the surprise, so for example Michel Ancel last year claimed that E3 is not the best place to show Beyond Good and Evil 2, and as we know - that's exactly what happened.
