GOG St. Patrick's Day Sale

  • 1026

GOG.com is currently having a leprechaun-themed sale for Saint Patrick's Day. The sale lasts for a week, ending on Monday the 19th of March. From their announcement:

Come join the festivities - we’re launching with 300+ deals up to -90%, and Leprechaun Hats full of great Mystery Games!

These "Leprechaun Hats" are mystery games that you can choose to buy for $3. After you buy a "hat" you can redeem it to collect a random game from the sale with a sale price anywhere from $3.45 to $19.94 (you can't choose what game you get, but at least you're guaranteed to get something worth more than you paid).

As far as I can tell the only games currently at 90% off are We are the Dwarves and Serious Sam: The First Encounter. At a glance, most games seem to be 66%-75% off.

DRM-Free Games are great, but most people prefer Steam especially for online games that need to be updated every often

also inviting friend to play with and making some profit of card drop. :)

The only issue I have with these mystery boxes are that the games that I would want from GOG I either already own or own on Steam. So I would be buying a box with a game I'm not going to love. Maybe it will be something that I might play one day or it may be something I'll never play. Doesn't really seem worth the $3.

10% say yes, 90% not worth better you bought game on sale what you want

Although I prefer to buy games on steam and origin, I got several classical old games on GOG, maybe I won't spend so much time on them, but I like their DRM-Free policy and glad to introduce it to many people
