Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Officially Announced

En route to tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets superstar (and soon-to-be 2018 MVP) James Harden dressed up in full camo along with a hat that sure looks like the Black Ops III logo extended by one.

After weeks of rumors, a basketball tease, and lots of snickering about Roman numerals, today it’s finally official: Call of Duty Black Ops 4 (IIII) is coming this fall.

Publisher Activision did not reveal much more information than that, adding that it and developer Treyarch will share more details on May 17, with the game coming out October 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

This will be the first time in over a decade that the fall’s annual Call of Duty is coming in October rather than November. Perhaps related: Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, which is likely to be this fall’s biggest game, will be out on October 26.

Despite earlier rumors, Activision did not say anything about a Switch release. When asked about that, the company declined to comment. There is, of course, a Nintendo Direct today at 5pm ET, so if the company does plan to release Black Ops IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII on Switch, it may be waiting for then.

So it is Call of Duty Black Ops IIII as the rumour said. Well let's see how it goes. No Switch version is sad.
