I just got new Alienware 15 R3 7700HQ GTX 1070model. I just play overwatch for 10 minutes and the CPU temp goes up to 100'c celcius.

I did not change any settings and it was ultra graphic setting.

Should i return and get the new one or go to Dell service center for repaste?

I prefer not to return it but if it is not normal i will definitely return the product.

Core 0,1,2,3

Temps 100,100,95,99,94

I'm having same issue on my GTX 1060 Model.

Tried talking to support but all I got in return was "It's working as intended, and we can't help with it".

You may try your luck as well with Dell Support just in case, because this situation is obviously not normal.

If the system is too hot, it will shut itself down to protect itself, and it seems that the threshold is not being met for that.  Obviously that kind of temperature is not ideal, but regrettably there is no obligation on the part of Dell to fix it until a failure of some kind is reported.

Hi!

Try following these steps  https://www.dell.com/support/article/mx/es/mxbsdt1/sln305033/alienware-15-r3---17-r4-overheat--performance-issues-or-throttling-during-high-cpu-stress?lang=en, and if the problema persists.. contact dell support, mine is getting replaced the Mobo, vents and heatsink because of the problems. It's sad but it's still under warranty..
