A idea how to keep away those spambots aka "good news" or "thanks for the news"

How about to place a new Topic from time to time in News section with a text like this.

"Hey Folks, this is a thread to prevent bots and spam. All you have to do is to write something here, which is not totally sensless or something like "Thanks for the News",  "Good News", "Thanks", "Nice".

What happens if you still do this? You get banned from here, how simple is that? So you dear Spammers and Bots enjoy your Ban and try it again starting with Lvl. 0."

Maybe with changing Headlines, to see who really read "The News" and who is just spamming. And Ban those who are replying to this thread with one of those phrases

edit: Thanks to the Mods to listen to my Suggestion and doing it https://eu.alienwarearena.com/ucf/show/1780828/boards/gaming-news/News/a-new-game-called-bot-trap

Yep, kinda hard to engage on these forums with the bot army spam...

It should be simple to find people who post the same thing thousands of times (look on cosplay section)...

No matter how much i report or downvote, it's the same thing all day, every day.

Thanks for the news, joking, your idea is great, but the problem is that usually they are not bots, they are just people who spamm that just for a frikin' point to achieve, I hate when people comment on good posts (thanks for the news, thanks, and potatto and s#it like that) don't we mention about kids who copy/paste the old ans good threads and claim them for their own....what happened with these forums, were good days here !

The problem with the cosplay section is that you can not understand it was earlier or not. Missing search system = many duplicates. Sometimes, when I see that someone has posted the same photo - I write to him that this is a dubulicat. Also, if someone writes me about the fact that he posted such a photo before - I delete my post without problems. But I have no way of tracking uploaded content before publication. In this case, it is easier for me to publish and then delete

They finally did a topic of this in the news section :) I'm curious to see how it works out.

It's great that you can already see numerous people posting the "banned" phrases.  Mods also stated they suspended at least half a dozen users already (probably more since they posted that).

This is a wonderful step in the right direction for this site!

Yes, this is indeed a step in the right direction. The issue is also that you earn points by the upvotes you get, which results in spam.

Which can be counteracted if every person that complains about this sort of thing actually downvoted.  Unfortunately, that is just too much work for some people so they scroll past instead.  I think this discussion and others like it, have opened people's eyes to it and now the trend is that these stupid posts are now being downvoted like crazy.
