Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War Microtransaction Market Revealed

Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War Microtransaction Market Revealed

It has already been confirmed Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will include some sort of microtransaction system for a while and now, Monolith Productions revealed it with a post on the official forums. The game will feature loot boxes that you can purchase with the in-game currency in the form of gold, but you can also spend your cold, hard cash on them as well.

Monolith Productions announced yesterday these boxes of goodies would be included in Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and there are two different ones available: Loot Chests and War Chests. Other items are also available through the store such as XP boosts and bundles. To purchase these items, players can spend Mirian or Gold earned throughout the game as the player progresses.

Here’s the rundown on the purchasable items, per Monolith:

Loot Chests: Contain Gear (weapons and armor) of varying rarity. Equipping and upgrading these weapons and armor enhance Talion’s character abilities. Loot Chests can also contain XP Boosts that help level up Talion faster
War Chests: provide Orc followers of varying rarity to help forge a strong army. They can also contain Training Orders to level up and customize Orc followers.
XP Boosts: Consumables that help level up Talion faster
Bundles: Packaged up Loot Chests, War Chests and Boosts together
Microtransactions have become an integral part of modern gaming after it saw great success in the mobile gaming industry. Games like Halo and Gears of War introduced ways for gamers to get access to bigger and better gear, faster than those who might play the game several hundred hours to unlock the specific loot. However, games like Star Wars: Battlefront II, on the other hand, has received unprecedented backlash over their integration methods, raising fears of more titles being ‘Pay to Win’.

Monolith, however, wants to ensure players that Shadow of War will in now way be ‘Pay to Win’, stating that “no content in the game is gated by Gold” and “all content can be acquired naturally through normal gameplay.”

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is set to release on October 10, 2017.

I Like games more without microtransaction. But I will still get it, because I liked the First

Microtransactions in full priced single player games are really disrespectful to the customers. I'll wait with buying the game until it's $4.

Having so much fun in the previous. Looking forward to it.

I'm in the same boat but for me it's $7.5

I don't think paying full price for any game is a good idea anyways.
