Action RPG The Surge is headed out soon. With its upcoming launch, developer Deck 13 are bringing on the weight of the plot to put in context for the Dark Souls-looking combat. Setting through an onslaught of mechanical assailants, players take on the role of a tortured protagonist. Death is not a surprise in this game and from the sounds of it, it’s relevant to tone of the game as well. That said, the combat features contextual damage and allows a specificity to the tight attacking, dodging, and possibly dying, sort of formula seen before in Deck 13’s previous Lords of the Fallen.
