Terraria has sold itself in 20 million copies

Here is proof that looks is not everything. Would you believe that one 2D indie title Easy Viewing in condition to sell itself fat above average of sales all of today's games? If on this you`re waving aside with your hand, you are wrong, because that`s precisely what developers Re-Logic did with their title called Terraria.

The popular 2D sandbox title has been sold in over twenty million copies during almost six years. Although this is quite a wide range of time, it should be noted that the was Terraria sold best in the past year and a half, after version 1.3, in which roughly sold almost half of copies, exactly eight and a half million.

To the good sales certainly godfathered and accessibility of the game.  Namely, the Terraria is possible to play on as many as fourteen platforms. Except that, new content constantly was released during the last years so the game got up to ten times more content than it initially had upon release.

I was a bit baffled at first on the image you posted, like i didn't know they updated their game graphically and added even more stuff.

But that's actually an image of their upcoming game, Terraria: Otherworld, which has improved 2d graphics.

Either way, terraria was one of my most fun experiences i had both on coop and on single player with a sandbox game. It doesn't require much, the progression is great, they added tons and tons of free new updates on the game, and it's just 10 bucks at full price.

Its incredibly fun and i'm not surprised it sold that well. It's survival and exploration settings are so addictive especially since the game started so simple with barely any stuff in it, and it progressed (with only free updates) to a game that added like 10x the content it had at launch. No dlc, no microtransactions, everything you want, you will have it in the game when you purchase it.

I'm really looking forward for Terraria: Otherworld and Terraria 2. And if you like the survival genre, this game is a must have in your collection.

I like Starbound but nothings beats this side scroller 2D sandbox that Terraria managed to put together.

Kuang Grade Mark Eleven

If you look at the Steam hardware survey which isn't very accurate but gives some insight nevertheless not every gamer owns the latest quantum computer.  These games will run well on lower spec hardware. So no wonder why 2D is still very appealing to many among other reasons.

Titled

Great news but that Screenshot looks like their other game ''Other World'' I think its called.

I love Terraria, its a game you can play casual on or go full on hard core whenever the mood feels like it.

Addicted One

This game is a real good one, not surprised me about 20 millions copy selled... I hope it is going to evolve and be more and more attractive.

Interstellar

Well deserved, Terraria is a great sandbox game you can play with friends with tons of replayability and frequent updates.  With the game itself not requiring a beast of a system, it's attractive to casual and hardcore gamers alike of all ages.

Glad to hear it! Looking forward to the future Terraria games as well. :D
