Upcoming Dishonored 2 Update Will Have Custom Difficulty and Mission Select
The second free update for Dishonored 2 will be available later this month on January 23rd. PC owners can get the beta update starting January 18th. Dubbed "Update 2", it will feature Custom Difficulty settings and Mission Restart/Select. Custom Difficulty settings allows players to tailor their "immersion". There are more than 20 different sliders that lets you tweak many aspects of the game. Examples would be how quickly Sleep Darts take effect and how many active enemies are likely to gang up on you. This allows players to create a more enjoyable experience. Inside this setting, there is also an Iron Mode challenge. By selecting this, there will be permanent death and no manual saving/loading. This is definitely for the hardcore players.
The long awaited Mission Restart/Select feature is also something to look forward to. In the previous game, players could replay any mission they want while also bringing forward the progress of the previous completed mission. It made no sense the sequel didn't have that feature on launch. But hey, better late than never. This update will let you replay missions or select a mission with previous progress. This is really important because it will make it easier to get a full Ghost or Clean Hands run. Previously, users had to rely on exact quick save/load to manage it.
Overall, this update might bring back some more life to the game. Maybe you guys forgot about the game since last month? The game has received a lot of flak for failing to fix its game. Users are still reporting the inability to run the game properly. Maybe in this update, Bethesda will finally address that. I've been on the fence for the game because of that. I'll reconsider it once Bethesda properly fixes the game. We'll probably get the full patch notes next week. Are you guys looking forward to it?
